If you have always wanted to learn to play piano, but never had the opportunity, here is your chance to join “the club” with other like-minded adults! This program is designed to teach you how to play in a way that sounds satisfying from the start. You’ll also gain a solid understanding of the music you are learning to play. Learning with a small group of other adults is fun: you have a small group of individuals cheering you on each week. It’s a great way to make new friends.
Playing the piano requires the coordination of many muscles and cognitive functions that keep your mind active. It is also a stress reliever and the satisfaction of conquering a challenging piece is immeasurable.
Classes run one hour weekly, with 27 lessons in the year. There are ten classes before Christmas break (from mid Sept. until early December) and seventeen classes after (from mid-January to the end of May). You will need a piano or 61-key, touch-sensitive keyboard for home practice. There will be a home piano party/recital at the end of the year for this group. Class size will be limited to 4.
