Music for Young Children

Music for Young Children: the high note in music learningMusic for Young Children has provided enriching, empowering, and enjoyable music experiences since 1980.   MYC’s interactive system motivates and engages parents and children, nurturing family bonds and delivering valuable co-learning experiences.

It is the only child-centered music-learning system that integrates keyboard, creative movement, rhythm, singing, ear training, sight reading, music theory and composition.  MYC helps participants – children and parents – develop a firm, fundamental understanding of music.  Children who complete the most advanced level of MYC training are well prepared for early intermediate piano studies, or study of another instrument.

Small class sizes ensure low teacher-student ratios and encourage constructive social interaction among children.

MYC teachers meet specific piano-performance and music-theory qualifications, receive special program training and are assessed to ensure consistently high music education standards.

There are several age-appropriate entrance levels:  Sunrise (ages 2 1/2-3 or 4), Sunshine I (students in JK), Sunbeams I (students in SK and Grade 1), Moonbeams I (students in Grades 2-3), My Choice (students in Grades 4-7), and Music Your Best Choice (teens and adults).
